Our OriginThe origin story began in 1957, when Burton and Gertrude Hathaway were pouring constant heartfelt effort daily with their newly acquired farm, originally known as the Hathaway farm. 20 years later, they had accumulated 450 acres of farmland and were sustained that way for a while, known as family owned and wholesomely operated.

Our StoryOur story though began after Burton and Gertrude’s son and family succeed them in operation – Sarah & Gerald Hathaway decided to try the Farmer's Market, that's where "The Bur-Ger Farm" came about. Years ago we used to take the first of the husbands name and the first part of the wife's name and hyphenate it. That's where we would come up with the farm name. So Burton and Gertrude Hathaway translates to the Bur-ger Farm. “I dedicate this name to them in Burt's memory.”

Our mission is to produce high quality meat and distribute it to those looking for something “a cut above the rest". And as such, our beef's most notable visual quality is its' marbling.
